Boys Town Jerusalem, known in Israel as Kiryat Noar Yerushalayim, is home away from home to some 900 boys ranging in age from 12 to 20. The beautiful and functional 18-Acre campus is centrally situated in the Jerusalem suburb of Bayit Vegan. Recognized in Israel as one of the foremost institutions of high school and middle school education, Boys Town Jerusalem delivers a most diverse curriculum. While the hub and heart of the Boys Town education is high technology, every boy is grounded in a comprehensive secular studies program (leading to full matriculation in accordance with guidelines of Israel’s Ministry of Education). A wide-ranging Jewish studies curriculum insures that
our graduates will carry with them strong Jewish values, an appreciation of their Jewish heritage for ‘life’.
More than 7,000 graduates in 66 years carry with them the vision of our esteemed founder, American-born Rabbi Alexander S. Linchner. Linchner devoted his life to building a school for children who poured into Israel following the Holocaust. His goal then, and the school’s goal today, provides a top-drawer education to young immigrants, most of whom come from serious socio-economic disadvantaged backgrounds, in order that they may mainstream citizens of Israel, contributing to the building and development of their homeland.
Boys Town graduates proudly serve in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), most often in the most technically demanding and challenging roles. They go on to make important contributions to their country, raising families, building businesses and start-ups, serving their communities as engineers, technicians, educators, lawyers, doctors and filling a wide range in other professional fields.
